Everyone loves to have fun and play games and the Texas Folklife Festival is a place where everyone can be a winner! Located throughout the campus, visitors will find innumerous opportunities to be the named the “Best in Texas.” Whether it is in a watermelon seed spitting contest or a hoedown, you can compete against others in traditions that are special to Texas. So, come on down and strut your stuff and show us how “Texan” you really are!

Preserving these cultural traditions is the mission of the Texas Folklife Festival. By bringing people together of different cultures and demonstrating Texas’ pioneering skills, we learn more about our history and how the past has influenced our lives today.
