BIBLIOGRAPHY

In editing this family history of Don Andrés Sáenz, it was necessary to consult a variety of books on the history of North Mexico, the history of agriculture in South Texas, architectural styles of the borderlands, and the flora and fauna peculiar to this ranching frontier. It is tempting to expand the list of entries to cover every detail and aspect mentioned in this book, but prudence dictates that the reader would most appreciate those books and entries that would lay a firm literary foundation for this specific story. Thus, the following bibliography is a selected list of sources that compose a very concise compendium of the general literature on South Texas ranches that were part of the same frontier as the San José and El Fresnillo Ranchos.
