This is the story of four generations of the paternal lineage in the Sáenz family: Eleuterio Sáenz; Andrés Sáenz; Praxedis Sáenz; and Andrés Sáenz, the author of this history. In the 1860s Eleuterio came north from Mexico and began El Fresnillo. El Fresnillo became the family ranch or farm; several family members built homes there. Andrés Sáenz, son of Praxedis, interviewed his father's sisters, Natalia and Anastacia, to record this family history.
