Exhibit hours are 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. “This is an ideal opportunity to see life as it was in the 1800s,” said Karen Sanchez, Back 40 educational coordinator. “Hands-on activities and demonstrations by costumed docents give visitors insight to early Texas life.” A special feature of “Texas Trails and Tales” will be a military camp demonstration, slated for July 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. A Confederate and a Union soldier will demonstrate weaponry and discuss military life during the Civil War era.
