The purpose of this
site is to make selected oral histories and photographic images from the
collections of the Institute of Texan Cultures Research Library available
to students, scholars, and the general public.
The oral histories
presented here have been edited to enhance online readability. The editorial
process has included:
- deleting "filler"
words such as uh-huh, okay, etc.,
- using brackets
[ ] to indicate words added,
- omitting repetitious
words and phrases, and
- relocating some
part(s) of the interview to fit with content being discussed in another
part of the interview.
We encourage those
undertaking primary research to order a copy of the original tape by calling
(210) 458-2228.
The photographs included
with the text are thumbnail versions of the originals. To view the enlarged
image, click on the photograph. To return to the text, click on the browser's
"back" button.
Putting the individual
oral histories online is a long-term project of the Institute, and additions
are made periodically. We invite you to bookmark this site.
