Norman, Elizabeth M. We Band of Angels: The Untold Story of American Nurses Trapped in Bataan by the Japanese. New York, N.Y.: Pocket Books, 1999.

This book tells the experiences of army nurses taken prisoner in the Philippines during World War II. It includes the conditions the nurses worked under before they were taken prisoner, and the type of treatment they received while being prisoners of war.
