How can I use these materials to support the Social Studies TEKS for my class?

This issue's activities are designed to reinforce social studies content using a variety of critical thinking and communications skills in cross-discipline tasks from language arts, math, visual and performance arts, science, and technology.

"Textbook-Free Activity for Your Class: Creating a Culture String" is appropriate for each middle-grades Social Studies level for purposes of considering one's personal culture in the light of world, American, or Texas cultures.
