The Many Faces of the Alamo
OVERVIEW
Students will read background information about the Alamo and review both images and quiz questions to list the many uses that the Alamo building has seen.
SKILLS
Students will analyze information in written and visual form to generate a list.
PROCEDURE
1. Have students reread the Background text on the Alamo, making a list of all the ways the building has been used. When most students have generated all they can, have them go back and fill in why the building was changed to that use.
2. Then have them again look at the images and the questions as they continue to make their lists on the ways the building has been used.
3. Review lists made by going around the room taking answers from students. Dont forget "photo opportunity" as another use!
4. After each answer, ask: "Why did the use of the building change?"
5. "Given all the changes that the Alamo has gone through, what new uses might emerge in the future?"
