The Alamo

A Mission, A Fort, A Shrine

From its beginnings as a mission to convert native people to Catholicism, the Alamo has evolved to become a shrine millions of tourists visit annually.  The Alamo church and compound have become a patriotic symbol dedicated to courage and heroism.
